Our client is a leading construction company that specialise in Agriculture, Build, Civils and flooring.

We are looking for an Estimator to join our team and assist in the pricing of various types of tenders. Our primary workload is civils and industrial based.

Estimator -

Duties & Responsibilities

Act as Lead Estimator reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
Prepare competitive and compliant bids for tenders varying in nature.
Managing time carefully and prioritising effectively to ensure all bid deadlines are achieved.
Work closely with the Project teams to understand customer drivers and develop winning strategies for bids.
Ensure tenders are evaluated and tender action plans prepared in line with the Bid strategy, estimating guidelines and directives on margin and cost and are submitted to deadlines.
Ensure prices are compiled in a thorough, logical and consistent manner and ensuring the finalised estimate is properly signed off in accordance with Procedures.
Attend meetings with the Construction, Delivery, Commercial or Design teams as required both during and post tender.
Provide the Commercial team with information and support so they can agree final terms and sign off on the contract.
Ensure risk and opportunities are identified and properly evaluated to develop a winning submission.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will -

Ideally hold a construction-based degree
Have a construction background of civils/groundworks, with extensive experience in estimating
Be thorough, thoughtful, analytical in your approach to pricing tenders.
Be confident, engaging, and have a resilient personality
Be hard working and determined
Be a strong communicator with the ability to tailor your approach to each individual customer
Keen to learn about existing and new technologies and embrace company training
Build effective relationships within the relevant Knights teams to ensure project implementation is delivered efficiently and effectively
Be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload - you've got outstanding organisational/time management skills
Be detail-orientated with a proactive, positive and solutions orientated approach - you're a confident problem solver
Confident in use of Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook and Excel
Ability to use Conquest estimating software
