We are currently looking for an experienced Energy Engineer to join our client's busy team in their Energy department. This position could be based in our client's Office based in the Cheshire area You will be in charge of the design and delivery of several prestigious projects, as well as assisting senior management daily. You will also be responsible for the development and training of junior/graduate engineers, and at the senior level, you will help with general workload coordination in the Energy Department.

You will be representing this small sustainability dedicated consultancy through direct contact with clients and other design team members, so you must have excellent communication skills. You should be enthusiastic about energy engineering and the projects you deliver, and you should want to advance your career.

Senior Energy Engineer Responsibilities:

Performing environmental analyses such as energy performance analysis, MEP system simulation, compliance analysis with UK energy standards, daylight, sun/shade, glare, external microclimate, and CFD.
Simulation is used to evaluate design compliance with UK regulations and standard methodologies, such as Section 6, Part L, BB101, TM52, TM54, TM59, and TM65.
Heating and cooling load simulation for mechanical system design.
Understanding and knowledge of high-performance façade design.
Understanding the principles of PassivHaus and Enerphit design requirements.
Work on Zero Carbon Roadmaps, decarbonisation strategies, and project design. Consider the Whole Life Carbon of our decisions, as well as Embodied Carbon considerations.
Lead environmental design and energy-focused projects, delegating and disseminating tasks to meet project specifications.
Maintain and/or develop an understanding of general sustainability issues in the built environment, including the use of BREEAM, WELL, and other international benchmarking systems.
Maintain current knowledge of environmental design codes and regulations. Energy Engineer required Skills and Experience :

Environmental design and sustainability in the built environment experience.
Have a relevant degree in engineering, architecture, or science, as well as experience working in the built environment.
Capable of providing in-depth knowledge of sustainability and environmental design issues relevant to the built environment.
Extensive experience delivering high-quality technical reports.
Dynamic modeling knowledge and experience for compliance and operational energy analysis.
Understanding and experience with energy modeling software (eg. IES)
Excellent attention to detail and written English of a high standard.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc
Membership of an appropriate Institution (CIBSE or equivalent)
Qualified Low Carbon Energy Assessor (Level 5) is an advantage
