My client is a multidisciplinary company that has been established over 100 years ago, with more than 500 employees and 18 offices across the UK. They work across a number of sectors and engineering disciplines including buildings / infrastructure / rail etc. They have a large geotechnical presence across the UK teams, but are particularly looking to increase their presence in the Leeds office.
Person specification:
The company are looking to hire an experienced geotechnical engineer / engineering geologist and are happy to look at any candidates from 1-5 years' experience in a relevant role. This role is suitable for someone who is keen to work on various projects in the residential, commercial, design, highways and railways field. If you have experience in a site investigation contractor or have worked in a similar capacity in an environmental consultancy that would be highly desired, but they would also consider a good graduate. Ideally you will have previously done a degree in Engineering Geology / Applied Geology / Geology / Civil Engineering/ Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines. Anyone with an MSc in Engineering Geology / Soil Engineering / Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering would again be highly desirable. Whatever level you join the company you will have an experienced team to work alongside and be mentored by.
Job responsibilities include:
Historical desk studies
Design/procurement/supervision of site investigations and SI subcontractors
Factual and interpretive report writing
Design and analysis of geotechnical structures including foundations/ retaining walls / slopes etc
Foundation Inspections
Site support and monitoring activities on infrastructure construction contracts
Salary:
- Up to £35,000 depending on relevant experience
