Our company is in need of an Energy Performance Engineer who can take charge of overseeing the monitoring, reporting, and optimization of the performance of our current energy efficiency and renewable energy project portfolio. In addition, the engineer will assist in the creation of new projects.

Bouygues Energies & Services design, install and commission large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint. It also means they can provide off-grid power in remote areas that can be sold back to the grid or used locally at a cheaper price than grid-supplied energy.

Key activities

Deliver the Measurement & verification (M&V) objectives in the delivery of operational energy performance contracts

Preparation and presentation of performance reconciliation reports to customers. Anticipated performances of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures shall be compared against targets, through the application of formulae set out in measurement & verification plans

Monitor the operational energy performances of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures

Identify optimisation opportunities to improve the energy performance of projects

Perform reviews of designs and installations to establish causes of performance shortfalls and to assist in the pursuit of improvement measures

Liaise with engineering and operational teams to ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance scopes align with energy performance requirements

Maintain overall visibility of energy performances across the portfolio of energy performance contracts

Assist engineering teams in the development of Measurement & Verification Plans and metering strategies

Undertake site inspections during construction and commissioning stages of projects to ensure that measurement & verification requirements have been fulfilled

Be a key point of contact for clients, acting as a account manager during the operational phase of energy performance contracts

Skills, experience & qualifications

Bachelor or master's degree in Engineering or Sciences

Experience in the delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects or technical energy management

Experience in the use of energy analysis software

Experience in the use of Building Energy Management Systems

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel

Demonstrable skills in mathematics, in particular computational data analysis and statistics

Knowledge of measurement & verification techniques
