Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer

Northern UK / Hybrid working

6-12 month contract / Outside IR35

Rate £p/h DOE

StaadPro / Tekla Building Designer / Navisworks

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in Yorkshire, who are specialist engineering and project house within the chemical & process industry. They are looking for an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer on a 6 - 12-month contract.

The successful Senior Civil & Structural design engineer will be required to conduct the following duties:

v Act as a lead engineer with client interface in single discipline projects

v Work within a multi-discipline engineering team producing integrated engineering solutions simultaneously

v Supervise designers

v Site Survey's - Structural Inspection, and to undertake detailed site surveys of existing works.

v Liaise with clients, project, and construction managers

v Develop engineering solutions for a variety of Civil and Structural Infrastructure projects in the chemical and Petro-chem industries

v Design & Analysis calculations to Eurocodes for both superstructure and foundations

v Prepare reports, design sketches and layouts

v Develop Basis of Design & BOMs at FEED stages

v Utilise CAD for design intent sketch production

The successful Senior Civil & Structural design engineer will need to have the following attributes:

v Ideally Chartered with IStructE or ICE, BEng (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering

v Proven experience of managing large projects through design phase

v Familiarity with federated models such as Navisworks

v Understanding of pricing construction for FEED

v Understanding of drainage design
