Maryland Environmental Service has openings for both Project and Senior Engineers to work within the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Division supporting our Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration Dredged Material Containment Facility and Marine Terminal projects. The successful applicants will provide proficient level engineering, planning, direction, and management to large civil construction projects from design through construction phases. These positions will develop, direct, and oversee services and staff for multidisciplinary engineering, design, and project management of stormwater management, coastal design, dredging and remediation related projects.

These positions will split their time between our Headquarters Facility in Millersville, MD and our Masonville and Cox Creek Dredge Material Containment Sites located in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County, respectively.

 

Estimated Pay Range:

Project Engineer Salary Range:  $64,143.55 - $88,197.38

Senior Engineer Salary Range:   $93,912.70 – $129,129.63

Minimum Requirements:

Project Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus six years of relevant engineering experience, two years of which include project lead/engineering oversight for construction and/or dredging project(s).

 

Senior Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus eight years of relevant engineering experience, two years of which included direct supervisory capacity managing technical or scientific staff. 

 

General Qualifications:

Professional Engineer Certification may be substituted for four years of the required experience.  EIT certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience.  Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant field may be substituted for two years of required experience.  Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

Experience in dredging projects, including projects related to dredge material management and innovative or beneficial reuse, hazardous waste management and/or construction management preferred.
