What You’ll Be Doing

This is responsible professional engineering and administrative work coordinating capital projects for the Department of Public Works and Capital Projects.  Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of administrative and reporting tasks to properly administer major capital projects.  Work includes developing specifications and scope of work for contracts, reviewing capital project expenditures, supervising and monitoring design engineers, preparing plans and specifications and contractor work to assure compliance with contract plans and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s of Science Degree in civil engineering, related field, min. of eight to ten years of experience in civil engineering and design, construction contract administration, or construction inspection, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible managerial/supervisory experience. Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
