Specialising in LV to 132kV connections including both grid connections and renewable energy, solar and battery storage projects, this company are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their team and embark on their next stage of growth.
The role
The Civil Design Engineer will be working on electrical infrastructure projects from LV to 400kV. The projects will include Large Scale Battery Storage and Large Scale Solar across the UK.
You will be responsible for overseeing the Civil Design function of the business and will be responsible for the delivery of Civil Design Engineering, on time, to a high quality and on budget from a design prospective.
Main Responsibilities
Assisting business in the standardisation of civil design drawings and construction methodology.
Working with the commercial manager to ensure that the proposed civil scope is compliant with Employers requirements, D.N.O., T.S.O., I.E.C. and British standards.
Assist the tendering team with civil design support.
Creation of detailed civil design specifications for Civil design consultants to execute and work to.
Design assurance and verification of civil design against ER's, Network operator policies, design specification and planning conditions and local authority specifications.
Real time response to site related queries on civil design.
Assisting the civil construction team with ITP and Tender packs.
Assisting in development of civil design as an in-house function.
Complete occasional site visits with local council and civils teams to ensure correct scope of works Requirements
10 years + Experience in a Contracting/Consulting Civil Engineer role
IT systems experience and competency.
Full clean driving licence
HV/EHV experience
Experience working with IDNO's, DNO's or ICP's
Working to BSEN, IEC, IEEE & CENELEC Standards
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
