Hunter Mason are recruiting for a Structural Engineer Consultant for a well established consultancy based near Birmingham.
They are widely experienced in the design of many types of structures in steel, reinforced concrete and timber, ranging from domestic alterations to industrial portal framed buildings and multi storey office developments.

Hunter Mason are recruiting for a Structural Engineer Consultant for a well established consultancy based near Birmingham.
They are widely experienced in the design of many types of structures in steel, reinforced concrete and timber, ranging from domestic alterations to industrial portal framed buildings and multi storey office developments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist in the creation of efficient high-quality structural engineering designs
- Undertaking the basis of design, structural analysis and design calculations for projects under the guidance of an associate or director
- Undertake site surveys and produce reports
- Draft specifications, project contract documents, risk assessments (including designers risk assessment) method statements for the project work being designed by your team
- Delivering multiple projects or parts of larger projects, within budget and to programme
- Working closely with other design team members to produce robust designs to meet our clients' needs and statutory requirements
- Undertake the project work in accordance within company procedures and statutory requirements
- Ensure that design assignments are completed satisfactorily
- Assisting in the associate or director in managing the broader team through mentoring and training
- Other technical and operational duties as required by the team
What You'll Need
- The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience within a similar role
- Chartership or progression towards chartership
- Experience in the use of structural analysis and design software (Tekla preferable)
- Practical experience of all the main materials (steel concrete masonry timber and foundations) to the Eurocodes
- Self-motivating, reliable and consistent approach to work
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Organise and prioritise their own time and tasks to enable the simultaneous running of several projects
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Effective team worker, contributing to the team and wider objectives.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of Specification and report writing
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
