We are pleased to be recruiting for a Civil & Structural Technical Engineer for an assignment planned to last until August 2023, however this may be extended. An Industry leading client, who manufactures world famous consumer household brands & personal hygiene products.

What you will be doing:

The technical engineer will work on civil and structural scope related to capital projects in London Distribution Centre for this Global Brand

The job will involve creating design proposals, evaluating drawings and working with suppliers. In addition managing the construction phase of projects, which includes permit writing.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety quality and internal control needs are met

  • ? Process and technical safety compliance on design/scope

    ? Ensure Legal compliance on HSE through consultation with the central risk group

    ? Ensure that safety is considered the TOP priority with all stake-holders (Especially contractors through regular tool box talks, communication plans and documented procedures)

    ? Ensure quality compliance and Internal controls are top priorities

    ? Regular safety tours
  • Civil/Structural

  • ? Engage with suppliers on civil and structural design scope.

    ? Produce design proposal, evaluating drawings and technical spec

    ? Proficient use of CAD
  • Field Execution

  • ? Lead the site execution works for the capital projects

    ? Interface management with contractors for safety, quality and schedule control

    ? Construction management and turn over (Depending upon the size of the project)

    ? Lead and deliver structural/civil design, IQ & OQ for capital projects (technology as per the role)
  • System Improvement

  • ? Construction Safety system deployment with excellence; close collaboration with modules affected

    ? Regular health check with contractors and benchmark with construction best practices
  • Other Expectations:

  • o Be a champion for the company's high performance organisation (HPO) principles

    o Qualification on all prerequisites for the role

    Qualifications & Experience:

    Minimum of 4 years experience in similar position

    CAD knowledge and experience

    Bachelor's degree or a master's degree in engineering

    HND, foundation degree

    The Hours:

    Monday To Friday

    07:00 to 15:00

    Some flexibility may be required for meeting project demands

    The Location:

    Grays, Essex, RM20

    Pay Rate

    Annual equivalent of between £50,000 to £80,000 dependant on experience. Will be paid as an hourly rate or daily rate.
