Carry out Site Inspections for buildings and plant as necessary.
Review UKAEA records and databases to compile design baseline data.
Perform structural analysis and prepare structural assessment reports (Software used at UKAEA is SAP-2000 and Tekla TEDDS).
Engage with stakeholder to define and document requirements, scope of work and oversee negotiation of solutions.
Prepare structural design solutions through conceptual to detail design phases for plant, structural equipment and for additional and alteration works. Deliverables to include design reports, drawings, bill of quantities and specifications conforming to project requirements.
Review of third-party design and analysis documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and UKAEA requirements.
Checking calculations, analyses and reports generated internally for compliance to standards and following UKAEA verification and validation routines.
Technical supervision and mentoring of junior engineers.
Act as a Technical Reference for the organisation in matters relating to specialist knowledge and experience held.
Demonstrate good communication to collaborate with personnel across the organisation as well as good team working.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or other similar engineering institution.
Structural engineering analysis and calculations using Eurocodes for Steel and Concrete.
Responsible for site inspections and documenting them.
Familiar with SAP 2000 and Tekla TEDDS or similar engineering software
Able to prepare drawings for tender purposes using AutoCAD
