Lead Civil Engineer

The opportunity has arisen for a Lead Civil Design Engineer to work with a very busy provider to the Water Industry. Covering the South East Water region, this company has an ever-expanding workload that requires a Lead Civil Design Engineer.

Producing the scoping and outline design for multiple clean water projects as well as coordinating and motivating a team of Engineers, this position is very varied and offers great flexibility with very occasional travel across sites for meetings and surveys. Although it would be beneficial for candidates to have worked in a Lead Civil Engineer position before, it could also be an amazing opportunity for a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer to step up.

Main responsibilities include:

- Produce the Scoping and Outline design for Clean Water Projects

- Contribute to the technical management of projects and the wider engineering team

- Ensure deliverables meet business operational and maintenance strategies

- Manage the Civil Design team and coordinate with other departments of the business.

The successful Lead Civil Design Engineer will have:

- A Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent with at least 10 years' experience in the relevant area.

- Membership of a professional institution/ be a chartered engineer

- Confident communication and team-player skills

- A strong background in the Water Industry

- A solid understanding of the design process

- A blend of technical expertise and leadership; with a hands-on understanding of water treatment technologies.
