A global engineering business who specialise in the Design, Structural Analysis and Integrity Management of Riser & Conductor Systems for the offshore Oil & Gas sector, are looking to hire an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer. The businesses capability and experience spans across all types of risers - from shallow water fixed platform conductors to drilling & production risers used in ultra-deepwater.

Whilst this can be a remote working role, it would be preferred if applicants lived in/around Scotland, London or France.

As the Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead, develop and undertake Engineering and Design activities for various offshore renewable and Oil & Gas projects.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Take responsibility for performing and supervising the Geotechnical Design and Analysis of offshore foundations, working closely with Structural Engineers.
  • Use appropriate tools to design, size, and verify the performance of Geotechnical Designs.
  • Work within a multi-disciplined team to solve various engineering problems.
  • Deliver quality in engineering and reporting.
  • Effectively communicate design solutions to clients, third-party suppliers and contractors, mentoring team members by sharing expertise and knowledge.

In order for your application to be considered, you'll need:
  • Significant experience in Geotechnical Design & Site Investigation, from within the Offshore Energy industry.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar subject/field).
  • Practical knowledge of Ground Investigation, Geotechnical Engineering and Geological Process work.
  • Ability to conduct & supervise data assessments & geotechnical analyses.
  • Experience carrying out geotechnical problem solving and solution justification.
  • Knowledge of Offshore Geotechnical Engineering codes such as API, DNVGL, ISO (or other international codes).
  • Technical report and presentation skills
