Civil Engineer

Catfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with a specialist Civil Engineering company based in Surrey and they are looking to recruit a Graduate Civil Engineer with some commercial experience on a permanent basis to their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION - CIVIL ENGINEER
Our client specialises in the recovery and reuse of wastes such as construction and demolition arisings to create environmental enhancements on complex projects. Our primary area of work is the creation of new parks and recreational facilities on closed landfill sites, remediation of contaminated sites and restoration of quarries. We take projects from inception, through feasibility, design and construction.
We are seeking a civil engineer to work full time as part of a small team. Duties to include:-
- Managing the construction of earthworks including capping and landscaping, installation of drainage, materials recovery and re-use, setting out and managing sub-contractors
- Contamination management including, soil sampling and leachate testing
- Preparing as built drawings and documents for discharge of planning conditions and recovery permits
- Assist with preparation of details in support of prospective work including design and management of specialist sub-consultants
Civil Engineer - Skills Required
The applicant should:
- Have a degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) with a knowledge of geotechnics, hydrology / hydrogeology, soil mechanics
- Be a good communicator (both written and oral)
- Be a motivated self-starter
- A minimum of 2 years of previous experience of civil engineering as consultant or contractor
- Experience with a range of associated software packages i.e. AutoCAD, MS Project, Trimble

We will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to obtain Chartered Status plus aligned qualifications within the waste recovery field.
Location
The job is based initially at our construction site in Surrey. The candidate may also be expected to work on various projects across the South-East visiting our other sites as part of the design and supervision role.
