To deliver safe and compliant civil & structural engineering design & technical support for the successful delivery of rail projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work unsupervised, under own initiative and to manage both internal staff and external contractors
- Fully conversant with Network Rail standards, project deliverables and technical principles, including experience of working to NR/L2/RSE/02009 and NR/L2/CIV/003
- Experience of successfully managing projects, including both internal and external resources, from cradle to grave
- Experience of preparing fee proposals, project programmes and manging project commercials and client meetings
- Past experience in structural/civil lineside surveys and reporting
- Ability to classify and assess structural defects, identify possible root cause(s) and produce technical report with recommendations
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5-years design experience within a consultancy practice
- Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IstructE; or on route to sitting professional review
- Experience of applying design software (E.g. TEDDS, Robot, CADS, Superstress etc)
- Working knowledge of Eurocodes and associated industry and group standards
- Valid UK driving license
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day requirements for all areas of project delivery; including technical, safety and financial aspects to maintain compliance to RBA QA policy and procedures
- Deliver all aspects of project work in accordance with client remit and HOR requirements on time, in full and on budget
- Respond to HoR and client requests in a timely and professional manner
- Undertake where required on site project works within the rail environment, sometimes at night and/or to remote locations (in line Abnormal Working policies), to identify issues and solve problems in a safe and professional manner.
- Manage own CPD and Development Action Plan with support from the HOR
- Meet business critical KPIs (includes both safety and commercial)
- Maintain engineering technical knowledge of standards, policies and procedures
- Represent the company at meetings with clients, contractors, design teams etc
