My client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their specialist rail and civil engineering team in the Wales region, playing a fundamental role in the commercial management of long term, secured civils & buildings rail frameworks and capital delivery projects, throughout Wales.
They operatea busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit is involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the South Wales, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients including but not limited to Capital Delivery Projects.
Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, Capital Delivery Projects and Buildings & Civils Asset Management frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels, footbridges, flood repair and alleviation to name just a few examples.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, taking ownership of various elements of work in a growing framework.
Your day-to-day role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

To excel in this position, you will have held previous roles in a similar contracting organisation(s) and must be self-sufficient, able to take a project from tender award to Final Account agreement. The successful candidate must be a team player with the drive and energy to progress their career in the long term.

Your day-to-day role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Subcontract Procurement within the allocated budget
- Preparation of Subcontract Documentation & Management of Subcontractors accounts to Final Account stage
- Timely Submissions of Applications for Payment to the client
- Identifying Change and gathering the relevant information to provide a robust submission for all project Variations to the Client
- Preparation and presentation of Cost Value reconciliation reports (CVRs) and Cost to complete Forecasts
- Prepare Estimates and agree price with the client
- Client facing - provide updates on Cost and change
- Submission of Applications for payments and agree monthly value figures
- Submission & Agreement of scheme final accounts
Requirements

- Commercial / Quantity Surveying qualification (minimum Degree/HNC/HND)
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor (minimum) in a civils contracting organisation
- Previous experience of working on a Framework running a number of high volume - low value schemes at any one time.
