Education RequirementsExperience Requirements
As an engineer involved in renewable energy projects, you would play a critical role in the planning and development of new facilities. This would involve using third-party software such as WindPro, WAsP, Homer, and PVSyst to model renewable resources and estimate production through plant design. You would also use GIS software to identify and mitigate spatial risks and manage meteorological stations and databases. You would review and perform indicative plant design using computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD/Sketchup and develop performance models to be used in the project proforma. Another important aspect of your role would be developing estimates of probable project EPC costs and Owner's Project Management costs for project modeling purposes and identifying and recommending mitigation strategies for all technical risks. You would participate in due diligence site visits to assess the suitability, feasibility, and risks associated with potential plant sites, and investigate environmental, permitting, and social issues to ensure that they are considered and mitigated during project development. Finally, you would provide and validate technical inputs into the project model and manage tendering processes for contractors and advisors.
