Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

My client is an international supplier of enrichment services and fuel cycle products for the civil nuclear industry, operating on a UK Nuclear licensed site specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services based in Capenhurst, Chester.

They have committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040, and as a result, the Capenhurst site is entering into a period of significant and exciting change.

In support of the Capital Programme, current projects include:
- 9,000m2 of BREEAM Excellent Office Accommodation
- 6km of HPPE Water Distribution Pipework
- 4MW of Solar Generation
- Substantiation and Life Extension of the existing Production facilities

The Role
The Civil/Structural Engineering team provides expertise on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with appropriate standards, specifications and legislation through the whole project life-cycle. Supervising and technically reviewing the associated design work, the team ensures that adequate specification, analysis, verification and assessment of engineering deliverables has been implemented.

Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Principal Civil/Structural Engineer you will be accountable for:
• Providing design and engineering expertise, ensuring fit for purpose design
• Specification, analysis, verification or assessment of engineering deliverables
• Checking, approving and accepting engineering documentation on behalf of the company
• Assuring engineering work packages comply with company, legal, regulatory and business requirements
• Stakeholder management of internal customers, in-house/external consultancy disciplines, regulatory bodies and other interfaces

Location
The role will be based at our Capenhurst Site near Chester. We offer free parking and there is a train station a few metres away from site with frequent trains to Chester or the Wirral.
