Civil/Structural Hydropower Engineer

Fichtner is a global engineering consultancy with a strong history in Hydropower. To date Fichtner has worked on over 500 global Hydropower projects with a total capacity of almost 70 GW. Fichtner UK&I is currently supporting clients in the UK on several pumped storage hydropower projects. As such, Fichtner is looking to expand its UK based hydropower team with skilled individuals with previous experience in pumped storage hydropower, hydropower, or a similar water management industry.

This permanent position is based from our central Glasgow location.

We are looking for:

* a good degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;

* be actively working towards professional chartered membership;

* recent technical experience gained with civil engineering/structures in the pumped storage, large scale water management or hydropower sector;

* exposure to relevant codes and legislation relevant to hydropower schemes;

* a basic understanding of the project principles of hydropower plant design and construction including feasibility study, FEED, design review and construction management;

* comfortable in interpreting engineering drawings and design specifications;

* fully conversant with Microsoft Office;

* a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional engineer;

* able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary project team; and

* a full driving licence and vehicle; and

* able and willing to travel in the UK and Ireland to remote sites or client meetings, with occassional overseas travel to be expected.
