My client, a leading Civil Engineering company within the rail and power sectors are looking for a Civil Engineer with Trackside experience to join their growing team.
The Role
Managing the civil engineering aspects of small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
What you will be doing:
Authorising technical drawings and engineering plans.
Conducting on site investigations
Reviewing and implementing temporary work designs
Analysing and checking data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
Assessing potential risks, materials and costs
Providing advice and resolving creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
Managing budget and purchase equipment/materials
Complying with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and delivering technical files and other technical documentation as required
Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials
Agreeing a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents
Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
Completing quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.
Completion of handback and as-built documentation and successful handover to clientExperience:
Minimum 2 years' work experience in trackside civil engineering
HV feeder renewals experience (desired)
Substation renewals experience (desired)
Degree in Civil engineering
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational skills
