Complete Streets Division Director

Starting salary: $110,000 to $120,000 DOQ

The City of Santa Fe is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as its Complete Streets Division Director. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for “The City Different”, with its world famous art scene, legendary history and culture, gorgeous landscape, and countless experiences that prompted Conde Nast Traveler to rank Santa Fe number 6 in its list of best cities in the world.

 

The Complete Streets Division is part of the Public Works Department and consists of 62 FTEs. It is a group of highly engaged, cohesive, and competent professionals that plan, design, build, operate, and maintain the City’s roadways, drainage, and trails. As the next Division Director, you will be realizing the City’s vision of a multimodal city where roadways and trails serve and ensure safety of pedestrians, transit customers, bicyclists, persons with disabilities, seniors, children, as well as motorists. The Complete Streets Division Director collaborates with other city departments, Metropolitan Planning Organization, New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Santa Fe County and others.

 

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. Possession of a State of New Mexico Professional Engineer’s license preferred. Seven years of progressively responsible experience in right of way operations and maintenance or transportation infrastructure design and construction, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Additional work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
