Graduate Structural Engineer

Currently working with a client looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer, the role will involve working on a variety of different projects ranging from commercial, industrial, retail, residential and scientific sectors.

• Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Prepare high quality technical reports
• Undertake analysis and design using hand calculations as well as a range of software packages, including CSC Fastrak, Tekkla, Building Designer, TEDDS, CSI Safe, Robot and Bluebeam Revu.
• Carry out hand calculations for verifying software outputs.
• Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, calcs, etc.) is always maintained.
• Liaise with other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
• Work on projects of various sizes and complexity including offices, hotels, large housing developments, retail etc.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering is essential
• Good knowledge about all the common forms of construction, material and building types.
• Graduate member of IStructE or ICE.
• Report writing Ability, communication and numerical skills is required.
• Experience in working in building sector (e.g. as summer placement) is advantageous.
• Experience of using structural analysis design software packages is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes is essential. Knowledge about British Standards is advantageous.
• Full clean driving license.
• Excellent, positive, reliable work ethic is essential.

The role is a full time permanent position at the Leeds Office, hybrid applications can be considered after 6 months of employment.

Salary range is dependent on experience.
