Civil Engineering Contracts Manager - South West
We are assisting an established regional Civil Engineering Contractor with their search for a Civils Contracts Manager in the South West.
The company is led by professionally qualified civil engineers and has a strong track record for delivering civil engineering projects such as infrastructure, highways, bridges & structures and flood defence schemes. Typical projects range from £5M to £25M in value and are generally located between Plymouth and Stroud.
Responsibilities would include:
* Deputising for the Regional MD
* Overseeing a number of concurrent schemes and assisting site based Project Managers as required
* Ensuring compliance with NEC Contracts
* Assisting the preconstruction team with the production of tenders
* Working with the commercial team to procure and administer subcontract accounts and monitor the main contract
* Contributing to the monthly board pack
Core Experience & Competencies:
* Recent experience of overseeing a broad range of civil engineering schemes.
* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
* Understanding of planning and planning software.
* Ability to assess and adequately mitigate risk.
* Strong relationship management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
Qualifications
* Relevant industry qualification: NVQ/HNC/HND/BEng or equivalent. Ideally MICE
