Our client is among the biggest engineering consultancy partnerships with multiple offices located throughout the UK. It is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with a client-centric approach that provides a range of services.

The Role:

They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their Leeds office. You will work on a variety of projects spanning the commercial, retail, residential, industrial and scientific sectors.

Duties:
  • Perform structural engineering evaluations and inspections on new and existing properties made of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Create high-quality technical reports, including dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys.
  • Conduct analysis and design work, utilising both hand calculations and a variety of software applications (SC Fastrak, Tekkla, Building Designer, TEDDS, CSI Safe, Robot, and Bluebeam Revu)
  • Verify software output with hand calculations.
  • Maintain consistent quality and technical output (drawings, reports, calculations, etc.).
  • Collaborate and guide other members of the design team to develop a coordinated design solution that meets the client's objectives.
  • Work on projects of varying sizes and complexity, such as offices, hotels, large housing developments, and retail spaces.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Having 3+ years of post-graduation experience working in a UK consultancy is essential
  • Must have a degree in Structural Engineering
  • Have Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).
  • Experience in using structural analysis design software packages is essential.
  • Experience of working on large projects, offices, hotels, housing developments etc.
  • Use of Eurocodes & British Standards is essential.

Desirable:
  • Experience in working on listed and historical buildings
