Salary: £22K - £26K + Excellent Salary

Our client is among the biggest engineering consultancy partnerships with multiple offices located throughout the UK. It is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with a client-centric approach that provides a range of services.

The Role:

They are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their Leeds office. You will work on a variety of projects spanning the commercial, retail, residential, industrial and scientific sectors.

Duties:
  • Conduct structural engineering assessments and inspections for both new and existing properties made of steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Create technical reports of high quality.
  • Perform analysis and design using both manual calculations and a variety of software packages (CSC Fastrak, Tekla, Building Designer, TEDDS, CSI Safe, Robot and Bluebeam Revu)
  • Verify software outputs by carrying out manual calculations.
  • Ensure that the technical output, including drawings, reports and calculations, is consistently of high quality.
  • Collaborate with other members of the design team to develop a coordinated design solution that meets the client's objectives.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A degree in Structural Engineering is essential, ideally a Master's degree.
  • Sound knowledge of the common forms of construction, material, and building types.
  • Graduate member of IStructE or ICE.
  • Good knowledge of Eurocodes is essential.
  • Knowledge about British Standards is advantageous.

Desirable:
  • Experience in using structural analysis design software packages
  • Experience in working in the building sector (e.g. as a summer placement)
