SENIOR/PRINCIPAL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERContract (Inside IR35)6 monthsHybrid or Fully RemoteMOD/DEFENCE£negotiableAdvanced Resource Managers are pleased to be supporting a global and award winning design engineering consultancy, to hire a contract Senior or Principal level Structural Engineer, to join their South West UK Design Office for an initial period of 6 months. If you are a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer and you would like to be considered for this post, you will hold some or most of the following qualifications, background and experience :- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.- MIStructE or MICE Full Chartership- Developing projects from concept to construction stage.- Managing and working to budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes.- Develop scopes of work and delivery programmes.- Technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability.- Current design standards and working practices.- Translate technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of designs.- Project background in UK Defence Projects, Submarine Facilities Design or Nuclear Projects (Satisfying Safety Cases)- Seismic Design and Detailing (Steel and Concrete to US Codes)- Maritime Design (BS 6349)- Heavy Civils Design- Building Design- Acting as a Discipline LeadThe role will allow you to :- Be a technical champion within the team- Provide efficient high quality structural engineering design- Work with, and manage, small focused project teams.- Deliver and lead multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme.- Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.- Manage your own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project.- Assist/mentor the development of apprentice and less experienced staff.- Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training.
