The Role:

As the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer Travel is an integral part of the role and will consist of both short design trips as well as trips of around 6 weeks at a time supporting the construction and installation phases.

In the job you'll be tasked with the following:

• The feasibility study work, CAPEX estimating, planning & project development for civil and structural engineering projects.
• The outline design and plant layout work, civil design services contract procurement work, technical query and contract management, and on-site construction management & inspection for civil and structural engineering works.
• Technical consultancy for the group manufacturing facilities around the world for civil and structural problems

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Civil/Structural Engineer role will require Chartered Engineer Status with Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE)

You will also need:

• Geotechnics and Foundations design
• Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel design
• Roads and drainage design
• Bulk Earthworks
• Preparation of Bills of measurement
• Internal building services (Lighting, HVAC, etc)
• Internal fit-out and finishing
• Inspection of on-site construction
• Preparation of budgets for design and construction elements
• Management of internal and external resources/contractors from feasibility to detailed design and then construction phases

Skills/Qualifications:

• Applicants educated to Masters degree level in Civil Engineering and working toward Chartered Status shall also be considered.
• Skilled in working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Skilled in working internationally within multi-cultural teams
• Skilled at effective prioritization of projects and tasks to ensure delivery on time and within budget
• Pro-active and able to work on own initiative, ready to identify problems and quickly report them / provide solutions
• An ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
• Exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills with a natural enthusiasm and conscientious approach
• Self - starter who drives for results

A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to limited public transport to the site.
