Take ownership for leading new complex projects

As the Senior Systems Engineer you will have technical responsibility for all aspects of the Execution Phase of a Technology development program. You will help us drive a formal system definition and design process for high profile novel technology in the Carbon Capture and Storage space. You will lead 'Requirements Management' and Analysis activities, facilitate collaborative workshops, define and document system interfaces. Reporting directly to the Strategy & Technology Engineering Manager and operationally to the relevant Product or Program Manager, you will be working at a senior level in a high-profile function of Baker Hughes.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will also be responsible for:
  • Supporting the design and development of new technology using a Systems Engineering-based approach
  • Delivering design definition material including updates to system model; creation and maintenance of requirement specifications; production of design review material and functional design specification
  • Assessment of new technology and products to satisfy requirements and overall system design intent
  • Supporting the definition of the Verification & Validation for the project and support the generation of design verification evidence
  • Implementing of material selection and corrosion protection Philosophy suitable for the target environment
  • Ensuring the design matures in a controlled manner through the use a robust technical change control and impact assessment process
  • Supporting the definition and delivery of the System Integration and Test phase
  • Providing technical input to the associated Safety and Assurance processes to ensure the solution is inherently safe, reliable and fit for purpose


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Be degree qualified in an engineering or science-based discipline
  • Have Chartered status with a proven track record in system engineering within the energy or related sector developing complex products and systems
  • Possess Systems Engineering experience using ISO-15288 or equivalent processes and a good understanding of RM ideally using formal tools like IBM DOORS
  • Have experience of system design from genesis to development, integration and acceptance
  • Show domain expertise across at least 2 of the following: Hydro-mechanical, Electrical & power, Software/Electronic, Marine/Structural
  • Be a fluent English speaker with excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Be flexible to travel internationally in accordance with project needs
