Chartered Civil Engineer - Rail

A young, rapidly growing engineering contractor, who specialise in the rail market, are now in an exciting position to look to grow their in-house design function. Integral to that growth is the appointment of a Design-CRE, who will spearhead this team and help grow it further. This position would definitely suit somebody who is looking to run their own team and have a great deal of influence within the business as a whole. The Design-CRE will have an excellent opportunity to be well rewarded for helping the company grow further.

The position will be to work full-time, fully remotely (inside the UK).

Role and responsibilities

• Take a lead role in managing civil engineering rail design projects.
• Producing drawings, reports and specifications.
• Liaising with clients and the in house teams.
• Helping put together tenders.
• Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards.
• Growing the in-house design team.

Requirements

• Chartered Civil Engineer.
• Prior experience of acting as a Design-CRE on Network rail projects.
• Extensive civil/structural design experience with Network Rail projects is critical. Unfortunately those without UK rail design experience cannot be considered.
• Experience of designing retaining walls, lineside civils, UTX/URX, cable troughing and other rail civils.
• Experience of design forms (F001, F002 & F003).
• Designers risk assessments.

Salary

• £60,000 - £75,000
