An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Brockwell Energy Limited as a Development Engineer.

Brockwell Energy Limited were formed in 2017 to develop a significant multi-technology platform to develop projects and services provision in the energy sector across the UK.

Brockwell's focus is on a range of renewable or low carbon technologies, including energy from waste, onshore wind, offshore wind, as well as investment opportunities around other exciting technologies such as solar photovoltaics, battery storage and hydrogen, to support the government's drive towards a low-carbon economy.

Role Profile

The successful candidate will be involved in the technical aspects of renewable energy project development from origination, through the various development stages, through to construction and into operations across a range of technology classes, including energy from waste, on shore and offshore wind, battery storage, and potentially emerging technologies such as hydrogen.

Activities will be varied and fast-moving, from initial site finding and feasibility evaluation, through consenting and grid connections, development and negotiation of technical contract aspects, and then project management services once into construction and operations.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will:
  • Be a team player able to thrive in a growing, agile and entrepreneurial organisation benefiting from exposure to a range of technology types evaluating and delivering opportunities across the value chain
  • Have a strong interest and at least three years relevant experience in various forms of clean energy
  • Have a high level of motivation and enthusiasm with a positive approach to project management
  • Embrace and enjoy variety in day-to-day activities and be highly adaptable and multidisciplinary
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Be organised and structured in their work ethic and analytical approach
  • Be computer literate, fluent in the usual Microsoft software packages and well-versed in CAD and GIS packages
  • Have a strong technical/engineering background (qualified to degree level) and be able to add value across many different disciplines (we are open to all engineering disciplines, though electrical / grid / battery storage backgrounds would be particularly advantageous)
  • Be commercially, mathematically, and financially capable
  • Have a good grounding in health, safety, and environmental issues and key legislation / requirements
  • Be able to produce high-quality deliverables with limited supervision
  • Demonstrate attention to detail on key project challenges and identify, communicate, and implement effective solutions
  • Be an effective communicator, able to clearly and confidently engage with all stakeholders

Location and Remuneration Package
  • Location: Head Office in Edinburgh
  • Salary 35-45k, depending on level of experience with a bonus opportunity up to 30%
  • Employer pension contribution of 5% (matched)
