Rail Civil Design Engineer

We are currently dealing with a major Engineering Consultancy who are looking at recruiting a Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer to work on such major projects as HS2 and TRu with the role being based in Birmingham. As the Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer, you will act as lead designer on a variety of rail and infrastructure design projects. You will also manage budgets, programmes and quality assurance and lead a small team in the delivery of projects. Other typical duties can include, but not limited to:

Prepare outline and detailed design of multi-disciplinary rail projects as directed
Interface with other discipline and 3rd party Engineers to ensure a multi-disciplinary design is developed
Report to Senior Engineer and Project Management team on progress of project
Undertake the duties of the design engineer as highlighted in CDM/CSM legislation

Job Requirements

Good knowledge and experience of civil or structural engineering design and detailing, with a background in rail ideal, however not essential
Experience as a design engineer under supervision with responsibilities for delivery of project(s) to the required quality
Knowledge of civil design and construction principles and standards
Proficient in the use of computer analysis programs TEDDS, Supersuite or similar
Eurocode experience
