Senior Geotechnical Engineer

I am looking to speak with a Senior Geotechnical Engineer situated in York to sit below the technical and managing directors who is looking to work for a small design consultancy that specialize in detailed geotechnical design in a fast-paced environment.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be expected to undertake the detailed design of foundations, earthworks calculations, retaining wall design, bearing capacity calculations and analysis slope stability as well as pile design. You will need to be confident using software such as such as PLAXIS, Oasys and LPile, albeit training will be provided.

Coming in as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will have the opportunity to lead some of the most technically challenging detailed design projects, through putting their own stamp on these projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing fee proposals, liaising with clients to facilitate efficient execution of project work, supporting, managing, and developing graduate and more junior geotechnical engineers.

A Senior Geotechnical Engineer, it is expected that:

Undergraduate BEng in Civil engineering or BSc in Geology, with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Chartered or nearly chartered Engineer MICE/ Geologist Cgeol/ MIMMM/ MISSMGE
Experience in earthwork design, ground improvement, foundations, retaining structures and slope stability assessments
Knowledge of management, procurement, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations
Geotechnical/Geology knowledge on infrastructure projects
