THE POSITION:
The Assistant Engineer will serve as a key member of the City’s Engineering Division and will contribute to the maintenance and operation of the City’s infrastructure by ensuring the safety and quality of streets, sidewalks, traffic signals, street lights, traffic signs and storm drain outlets. The Assistant Engineer will serve the Eastvale community with a “can do” attitude and “get it done” approach to work in a fast-paced environment while working closely with a talented, energetic, and highly engaged team of City talent.

What you will be doing:
• Overseeing the City of Eastvale’s pavement management plan including slurry seal and asphalt overlay
• Assisting with the citywide traffic sign replacement program and other traffic safety improvement projects
• Supporting various Capital Improvement Projects, land development projects, and right-of-way related tasks

Education:
Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field. Possession of valid Engineering in Training (EIT) certification issued by California State Board.
Experience:
Two or more years of responsible professional civil engineering experience in a municipal setting, including experience with public works projects; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Highly Desirable:
Possession of valid Professional Engineering license as Civil Engineer by the California State Board engineers.
