About the Structural Engineer Role
The role and obligations as set out below are intended as a guideline only and additional duties and/or a variation of duties may be requested by the Company at any time.
Key Requirements of the Structural Engineer role:
Have post grad professional experience in Structural Engineering.
Have Structural Design experience with Steel Structures.
Have extensive knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
Have extensive experience with at least one Structural Design Software and capable to learn others smoothly.
Have extensive knowledge with Steel Connections.
Have experience with Steel Manufacturing requirements / drawings / procedures.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Tools. Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint etc.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD.
Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills, with an ability to work both under guidance and using your own initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills
Main Engineering Duties of the Structural Engineer role:
Production of Full Structural Design of Steel and/or Cold Formed Steel Superstructures.
Production of Technical Details using AutoCAD.
Liaising with Clients, Contractors and Consultants.
Production of Structural Calculation Reports, Presentations, Data Sheets etc.
Providing Technical Support to Framing, Manufacturing and Construction Teams.
Inhouse Technical Support Duties of the role:
Supporting the engineering team with on-going projects.
Mentoring Junior Structural Engineers as required.
Coordination between Structural Engineers and Framing Team.
Developing inhouse R&D solutions for Structural Design Tools.
Assist in the development of the inhouse QA processes.
Provide support to the other departments within the company that may require structural engineering input.
Ensuring compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems and with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
