Job Description - Managing Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering

Atheray Stone are currently recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work for a major infrastructure contractor who work on projects nationwide within the Rail, Highways and Energy Sectors.

Due to a major project now progressing through early stages and onto site, they are looking to add a Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee a commercial team delivering a number of infrastructure packages. Type of works include Drainage, Structures, Highways and Demolition. Project due to run for circa four years.

Candidate Profile - Managing Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering

* Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial / Construction Management

* 8 + years post experience, ideally currently holding MQS title

* Chartered or working towards

* Previous experience working for Tier 1 / Major Contractors on Major Projects preferred

* Ability to manage a wider commercial team from SQS to AQS

* Strong NEC 3/4 Contract experience

Responsibilities - Managing Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering

* Understanding Project start up and commercial procedures that come with mobilising a major infrastructure project

* Procurement, Application for Payment and Invoicing or delegating these responsibilities

* Cost control of the project, reporting end of month CVRs upstream to Project Commercial Director

* Risk Management, identifying risks and opportunities

* Management of change through regular review of construction information

* Sub contract management and administration of contract

* Management of commercial team from Senior Quantity Surveyors to Commercial Administrators
