Company details:

The company has won many Awards over the years and works in most sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, residential and leisure. They have a varied workload and responsibilities within a friendly, vibrant and supportive team environment.

They are a company of 43 staff spread across 3 offices.

London: 18
Southampton: 10
Oxford: 15
Their London structures team currently consists of 3 Senior level engineers, 2 of them chartered, 1 Graduate Engineer and 2 Senior Revit Technicians. They also have 3 Civils staff, 3 building surveyors and 2 Finance team staff based there, as well as a MD.

They are looking to grow as the numbers got whittled down during the pandemic, and they also recently lost a couple of staff at project engineer level, both decided to take different career paths. They are ideally looking for 1 senior engineer with around 7-9 years' experience.

Person specifications:

Minimum BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering required
Preferably Chartered MICE or MIStructE
Able to show originality and invention in the creation of solutions for structural and civil engineering problems using all common building materials, including reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
Job responsibilities include:

Own project production from inception to completion with Partner or Associate oversight only including project management plans, appointment documents, financial management, invoice drafting, report writing and calculation, specification, drawing and/or Revit/BIM Model production.
Provide leadership and management to the resources on a project basis.
Manage and record health and safety risks and maintain Designers Risk Assessments in accordance with CDM regulations.
Advise and update the Project Partner of any possible changes to scope, circumstances, or programme that may impact on cost and agree actions.
Be conversant with the Practice's Integrated Management System.
Liaise with co-professionals and clients.
Delegate workload and monitor delivery and help train and mentor other team members.
Liaise with Associates and Partners on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to plan and ensure sufficient resourcing to enable timely project delivery.
Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections of structural works and existing buildings; prepare reports or sections thereof.
Act on behalf of the company at Design/Project meetings and to promote the services and skills of the practice including the negotiation and obtaining technical approvals/solutions.
Develop client and co-professional relationships to build your own relationships with other professionals
