We are currently looking for Civil Engineering Team Manager to join our clients' multi-discipline property and construction consultancy in Winchester. My client deals with both the private and public sectors, specialising in Education, Healthcare, residential, retail and defence and security amongst others.

Working hours:

As a Civil Engineering Team Manager, you'll be required to work full-time Monday - Friday.

To be considered for the Civil Engineering Team Manager role you must have:
  • Strong leadership and commercial skills
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-disciplinary organisation
  • Professionally qualified as a chartered engineer (CEng) - desirable
  • Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.) or equivalent relevant professional body
  • Good understanding of sections 38, 278 and 104 agreements
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and in particular Civil 3D
  • As a competent user of Info drainage / Micro drainage - desirable
  • Design experience with 5-8 years post-graduation
  • Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor roadway design
  • A good understanding of sections 38, 278 (Highways Act) and sections 104, 106 and 185 (Water Industry Act) agreements
  • Experience with designing a wide range of projects from conception through to completion (including calculations, drawings and specifications)
  • Competent in the design of external works
  • Familiar with Parts H and M of Building Regulations, British Standards and local authority requirements
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application within civil engineering
  • A solid understanding of drainage design,

As a Civil Engineering Team Manager, your role will involve the following:
  • Managing and leading project teams
  • Working closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects i.e. architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost managers
  • Assessing resource levels to deliver challenging projects
  • Managing/ mentoring engineers and technicians towards Chartered status
  • Prepare client/project proposals to win new work
  • Preparing fee proposals and managing project costs
  • Construct project teams from internal and external resources
  • Project profitability (monitoring/planning of costs and budgets)
  • Procure project resources
  • Manage and co-ordinate highways and drainage designs relating to large development infrastructure projects
  • Produce Flood Risk Assessments (FRA's), Drainage Strategies, Nutrient Mitigation and other Pre-Planning advice
  • Provide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem-solving
