Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Our client is a global engineering contractor specialising in the design, structural analysis and integrity management of riser and conductor systems that are used in the drilling and production of offshore oil and gas. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions and maintaining a strong focus on safety and sustainability. They are looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team.

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and analysis of geotechnical solutions for offshore energy projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects, adhering to relevant industry standards and codes. This is a remote role, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a dynamic and diverse team.

The responsibilities of this Principal Geotechnical Engineer position are:

• You will take responsibility for performing and supervising the geotechnical design and analysis of offshore foundations working closely with the structural engineers
• You will be expected to use appropriate tools and to design, size, and verify the performance of the geotechnical design
• Work both independently and within a multi-discipline team to solve engineering problems
• Deliver quality in your engineering and reporting
• Your role will include communication of the design solutions towards clients, third-party suppliers and contractors and mentoring team members by actively sharing your expertise and experience

To be considered for this Principal Geotechnical Engineer role, you will need the following:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in geotechnical design, preferably within the offshore energy industry.
• Proficiency in applying offshore geotechnical engineering codes such as API, DNVGL, ISO, or other international codes.
• Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
• A commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
