Our client is seeking to employ a Principal Infrastructure Design Engineer to join the team based at Peterborough. The role itself will be mainly remote with the successful candidate requiring to attend the office 4 days per month or 1 day per week for specific meetings.

The ideal candidate will have a background in design for various sewage systems clean and dirty water, RC design, piling and pipe related projects. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with Anglian Water, Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Lead Engineers as appropriate and Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Discipline Engineers

* Chair regular discipline meetings to promote team engagement

* Attend meetings and site visits to proactively identify and agree scope of services for specific tenders and projects

* Ensure appropriate checking strategies are implemented for all design output prior to issue

* Ensure that designs and design checks are completed on time and within fee estimates

* Identify opportunities that may facilitate cost savings, carbon reductions or other efficiencies.

* With the design managers and the engineering team to develop new digital tools and design ideas.

* Where necessary assist in the production of design briefs

Experience and Qualifications:

* Degree (MSc or MEng) preferably in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

* Significant experience as a senior discipline engineer and design experience in sewerage systems

* A detailed technical and inter-related engineering disciplines knowledge

* Experience of working on site for a contractor

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Experience of use of geotechnical software

* A good understanding of a construction team interface and coordination.

* Experience of use of computer aided draughting software

* Good team worker but also able to work under own initiative

* Dynamic, enthusiastic, conscientious with good attention to detail

* Able to work under pressure and prioritise to meet deadlines

* Willingness to travel throughout the UK

Salary & Benefits:

* Salary - £60,000 to £75,000 Per Annum depending on experience.
