Experienced Structural Engineer
Our Client is offering an exciting opportunity for a full time Structural Engineer to join their friendly and professional team in Godalming, taking a lead role on the structural design on a range of projects. Workload varies from small domestic alterations to large commercial new build and refurbishments.

The Structural Engineer role would include:

• Supporting the directors
• Taking the lead role on the technical engineering design of projects
• Working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Assist in the day to day management of engineers and technicians
• Liaising with clients, architects and external design team members to ensure efficient and integrated structural solutions are achieved
• Carrying out structural surveys, feasibility studies and site inspections.
• Attending DTMs and progress meetings as project engineer
• Ensuring Health & Safety is considered at all stages of the design process to ensure designs produced minimise risk during construction

The ideal Structural Engineer would have:

• UK experience in the preparation of structural design of refurbishment, structural modification and new build projects, covering common building materials
• A commercial awareness and ability to deliver high quality, detailed and creative designs, and think outside the box
• Checking of design calculations, drawings and specifications
• Have the ability to present reports, ideas and designs confidently and fluently, and to a high standard to internal and external audiences
• Ability to show experience of working with British Standards and Eurocodes
• Have good planning, organisation and time management skills in order to balance tasks and prioritise to meet project deadlines
• Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the following design software package, MaserSeries, TEDDS, NBS
• A good knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage
• An interest in pursuing sustainable, economic and practical design solutions to meet sustainability targets
