Associate Civil Engineer

Salary up to £75k plus car allowance
Our client are an international Design Consultancy, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions in the Built Environment. Their structural, building services, infrastructure and environmental teams collaborate in the design of some of the world's most impressive projects.
Their busy Bristol Civils team have an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join their team to work on projects in the UK and further afield. Providing proactive leadership, you will lead a team of creative, dedicated engineers across an array of exciting and interesting projects. The ideal candidate would be a well-rounded Chartered Civil Engineer, technically competent across all core Civil Engineering disciplines with exemplary communication skills and who has experience leading teams and delivering projects.

As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will undertake and technically lead teams in Civil Engineering designs including Surface Water, Foul Water, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Utility Design, and Coordination. Working closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions this role would support projects in multiple sectors including transportation, energy, and defence. You will possess a strong track record and proficiency in designing at least one of the sub-fields of Civil Engineering with an excellent knowledge of the industry. This position would suit an Engineer with sound problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, practical mind that is able to take accountability and responsibility for work carried out by the individual or the team.
You will have a sound knowledge across a range of external works design, including utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility, construction logistics and familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices are key competencies for this role, as is a proficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages, following local and national guidance such as MicroDrainage, InfoWater, or InfoWorks for drainage. You will possess a robust understanding of contracts (principally NEC forms) and their administration and be competent with all aspects of change management and QA processes.
They have a full flexible working, where there is no fixed 9 'till 5, no need for a 5-day week, no requirement for a full-time office based contract and no requirement to spend all your working time in the office.
