Bridge Recruitment's client, a family run Civil Engineering Consultancy, based in Nottingham, with a 35-year history, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer.

Our client works with main-contractors and land developers nationwide.

The Nottingham HQ delivers roughly 70 projects a year.

The Birmingham office, where you will be based, delivers around 10-15. Predominantly new build and temporary work within the commercial/industrial sector.

You will be a Chartered Engineer or working towards being one. This would suit a candidate who has recently become Chartered and looking to develop to an Associate Director.

You will have previously worked for a consultancy to fully understand the complexities of the role.

You will Project Manage your own projects from conception to handover. You will be able to design via AutoCAD & Revit. It essential you have used TEDDS design software.

You will be confident and highly assertive. You will be eager to attend client/site meetings as much as possible along with networking events wherever possible.

You will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) have a great attention to detail with a range of technical skills.

You will be reporting directly to the Branch Director assisting with management of 4 Engineers at various levels.

ROLE SUMMARY

Work as a Senior Engineer/Consultant within a Project Team. The role of a Senior Engineer/Consultant is to supervise and manage aspects of several projects.

Additionally, a Senior Engineer/Consultant is sometimes required to deputise for the Team Leader and supervise and assist employees in the Team.

On occasions a Senior Engineer/Consultant will be required to lead small teams with delegated authority and support identified by the Team Leader.

The role requires an aspect of business development by maintaining good relationships with existing Clients and actively promoting the capability of the Company to potential Clients.

Senior Engineers/Consultants are required to work independently.

It is expected that Senior Engineers/Consultants will take a leading role in their own development and learning as well as actively supporting the development of more junior Team members.

The role requires the individual to lead by example, demonstrate diligence and professionalism and take responsibility for contributing to the Team's knowledge.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Comply with all relevant Divisional and Company procedures and policies, adopt a professional approach at all times.

* Provide solutions to technical problems and write factual and interpretative technical reports or delivery with minimal supervision.

* To demonstrate a working knowledge of Company and Divisional Health and Safety Policy and production of site- specific working plans.

* To develop and maintain positive working relationships with Colleagues throughout the company, Clients, and suppliers.

* To promote the Company and its services to others.

* To contribute to personal and collective safety.

* To provide support and assistance to the Line Manager as appropriate.

* Undertake proposal preparation for complex schemes.

KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

* Technical knowledge and application.

* To demonstrate in depth knowledge of construction.

* To demonstrate a working knowledge of the general principles of structural design.

Steelwork

* A detailed knowledge of Modelling programmes e.g. RAM-ZTS Ability to produce RAM models with limited supervision of working knowledge of RAM models.

Concrete

* A detailed knowledge of Modelling programmes e.g. RAM Concept.

* Ability to produce RAM Concept models with limited supervision.

* Working knowledge of RAM Concept.

Masonry & Timber

* A detailed knowledge of TEDDS design software, o Ability to produce masonry designs with limited supervision.

* Ability to timber designs with limited supervision of Working knowledge of TEDDS design software.

Foundations

* A detailed knowledge of foundation construction types and design of the same e.g. Piling / Ground- improvement.

* Ability to produce design of foundation types with limited supervision of Working knowledge of foundation types.

Package

The company offers an annual salary of £45,000 - £55,000 DOE.

All site visit travel expenses, a gym membership and re-imbursement of professional memberships.

25 days holiday plus bank holidays (33 in total) Christmas shut down offers additional holiday.

The working week is Monday Friday, 9-5 with an early Friday finish. (36 hours per week)
