Our client is an award winning engineering consultancy who are dedicated on providing high quality building services. We're currently recruiting for a passionate Energy Engineer to specialise in designing and implementing energy-efficient solutions for buildings and infrastructure. Our Energy Engineers are experts in creating innovative and sustainable solutions that help clients reduce their carbon footprint and achieve their energy efficiency goals.

Our team of experts is committed to delivering high-quality energy-efficient projects that are both cost-effective and environmentally sustainable. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated energy engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success

At nongraduate level, the successful candidate will have experience of energy auditing, technical and practical knowledge of building services and energy management work. They will use these skills to conduct a range of different energy audits to develop building optimisation plans and net zero carbon roadmaps. At graduate level, the successful candidate will learn the aforementioned skills through working on live projects

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful will have the potential to grow. Whilst this role is based in our London office, the team supports the design team and clients nationwide, so some travel will be required

Responsibilities:

Carry out energy audits, assets review and other works on buildings in operation
Carry outs works associated with ESOS
Produce engineering decarbonisation plans and net zero carbon roadmaps
Conduct on site engineering services inspections and reporting
Provide strategic low energy design advice with an emphasis on operational performance
Undertake dynamic Thermal Modelling using IESVE software, including comfort analysis, natural ventilation air- flow modelling, CIBSE TMs, Building Regulations Part L assessments, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
Prepare Energy Assessments for Local Authority approval as part of planning applications
Prepare Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) technology feasibility studies
Manage client and other design team relationships
Understand client needs, interpret and confirm the project briefTraining programme requirements:

Commit to goals and objectives of a career development programme including attendance of in house and external technical and non-technical training
Commit to achieving or maintain CIBSE or similar membership status through relevant professional institution
Support the development of team members and undertake the mentoring of members of the design
Familiarise and learn about sustainable low energy initiatives and share this with other members of your team and wider within the partnershipSkills:

Energy auditing: Experience in conducting energy audits, assessing energy consumption, and identifying energy-saving opportunities in buildings and industrial facilities.
Building services knowledge: Technical and practical knowledge of building services, including HVAC systems, lighting, and controls.
Energy management: Experience in developing energy management plans and strategies to optimise energy consumption and reduce costs.
ESOS compliance: Knowledge and experience in carrying out works associated with ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme).
Decarbonisation and net zero carbon planning: Experience in producing engineering decarbonisation plans and net zero carbon roadmaps.
Engineering services inspection: Experience in conducting on-site engineering services inspections and reporting.
Low energy design: Ability to provide strategic low energy design advice with an emphasis on operational performance.
Thermal modelling: Experience in undertaking dynamic thermal modelling using software such as IESVE, including comfort analysis, natural ventilation airflow modelling, CIBSE TMs, Building Regulations Part L assessments, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
Energy assessments: Ability to prepare energy assessments for local authority approval as part of planning applications.
Feasibility studies: Ability to prepare low and zero-carbon (LZC) technology feasibility studies.
Project management: Ability to manage client and other design team relationships, understand client needs, interpret and confirm the project brief.
Training and development: Commitment to goals and objectives of a career development programme, attendance of in-house and external technical and non-technical training, and achieving or maintaining CIBSE or similar membership status through relevant professional institutions.
