We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual for the role of Structural Engineer to join the TRAC Team.

The Structural Engineer will provide technical support, to structural inspection activities on allocated projects or assets ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, operational and commercial requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with HSEQ Requirements as described in the HSEQ Manual, Procedures, Staff Handbook, and as specified by customer HSEQ requirements.

• Provide support for the inspection engineers and technical authorities in asset integrity inspections and monitoring plans in support of Inspection / integrity management for all structural items on nominated asset(s).

• Review and Approve inspection work packs for primary, secondary and tertiary structural in accordance with RBI inspection plans and Corrosion Risk Assessments.

• Ensure inspection drawings are maintained and remain accurate.

• Retrieve project specific technical data from client library/documentation as required.

• Chair Structural RBA reviews/and (or) client presentations and meetings.

• Review and approve inspection drawing mark-ups.

• Review comprehensive equipment listings for database records.

• Support Structural and Marine Technical Authorities in maintaining the anomaly database and ensure all defects are subject to appropriate engineering evaluation.

• Generate Structural Fitness For Service Assessments, as required.

• Review completed inspection work packs and reports.

• Make recommendations for remedial actions for anomalous items, as required.

• Produce meeting minutes or notes as directed, monitor outstanding actions and minute the response from vendor, the client and any other relevant parties.

• Provide general assistance to the engineers on the project as required.

• Ensure effective data management within MMS database.

• Assist in the maintaining of electronic and hard copy filing systems.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

Essential:

• Degree or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or >5 years' experience in a similar role.

Preferred:

• Civil, Marine or Structural Engineering qualifications or experience.

• Professional Engineering accreditation (EngTech / IEng / CEng or similar).

• Previous experience in a similar engineering position in the oil and gas industry.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

• Ability to read and interpret commonly used engineering drawings and data sets used in support of structural inspection activities e.g. plot plans, structural isometrics.

• Working knowledge of inspection management database systems. Preferred:

• Knowledge of the uses and limitations of commonly applied non-destructive examination techniques applied in support of inspection activities e.g. magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic wall thickness measurement, radiography techniques

• Experience of conducting Fitness For Service Assessments • Working knowledge of CMMS (SAP or similar). Additional Skills/Requirements

• Excellent planning and organisation skills with ability to deliver results.

• Computer literate with high level of competence in the use of MS Excel, Microsoft Office packages, e.g. MS Word, and MS PowerPoint as well as discipline related software. • Excellent communication skills - written and oral.

• Proven ability to develop highly effective working relationships - at all levels internally and externally.

LOCATION

This position shall be based in our Aberdeen head office with requirement to conduct business from within the clients' premises located primarily in Aberdeen. The position shall require flexibility in the work location and may require working from home
