Job Summary

As part of our Energy Management team you will be leading and designing data analytics and machine learning experiences for the development of our Machine learning driven energy control models, working closely with our development team to produce control software for our intelligent street-lighting and EV charging systems. The main responsibility of the role is to design, develop, and evaluate energy-related projects or programs to reduce energy costs or improve energy efficiency during the designing, building, or modelling of smart grid systems. We are very passionate about continuous improvement and you will play a key role in these efforts. Additionally, there are always opportunities to get involved with projects across the whole business, with a constant influx of new and exciting opportunities in the green energy sector.

Responsibilities:

Designing and modelling electrical connections with respect to lighting system and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Leading the Energy Team in BaU tasks

Testing and validating these electrical designs in a virtual and live/physical environment.

Develop electrical circuits and control systems used in smart grid applications such as fast EV charging infrastructure.

Develop risk assessments and safety procedure for the operation of electrical connections and machines.

Support/lead the Installation and maintenance of electrical equipment on testing and deployment site.

Analysing operational and energy related data for developing energy efficiency strategies and reducing smart grid system carbon footprints.

Designing and implementing an energy management system capable of collecting multiple energy related data such electric vehicle data.

Contribute to energy management projects' development, design, and implementation.

Planning or implementing research methodology or energy management procedures for projects.

Contributing to smart grid projects such as energy modelling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.

Requirements:

Have achieved a Bachelors or Master's degree in a STEM or related subject

Understand the national grid, components of the grid, voltage and current levels, frequency regulation techniques, and demand-side management.

Be comfortable using MS Excel, specifically VBA macro skills, as well as an ability to create complex calculation workbooks (optional)

Appraise and analyse commercial and economic aspects of energy related projects & an ability to handle large datasets

Assist in the preparation of commercial bids and client and public-facing reports

Additional Skills:

Have proficiency with Python and other common scripting programs (Optional)

Have a good understanding of electrical circuitry and software for developing and simulating electrical connections.

Have a good understanding on testing and validating electrical connections and circuits.

Have a good understanding in developing control strategies/systems for managing electrical equipment.

Have a good understanding of communication protocol between edge and cloud devices.

Have a good understanding of grid operations and the bidirectional flow of electricity.

Be comfortable conducting energy audits to evaluate energy use, costs, or conservation measures.

Be able to Identify energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy-efficient operations
