Are you a Structural Engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding design role?
We are working with an independently run engineering consultancy with a fantastic reputation with over 30 years of history in Cardiff. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their growing team to work on local and national projects. With a talented and diverse team of practice has an active social scene and promises real career development.
Projects are spread across both buildings and heavy infrastructure, access to both these work streams provides excelletn job security and variety.
Recent and current projects include:
Apartment units and commercial buildings
Waste to energy projects
Historic Bridges
Heavy Civil Structures
Historic restoration of the local historically significant buildings
Local out of town retail parks
Blue light services across South Wales
Local airport infrastructure
The business is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated Engineer to join their team at a Project level who can work autonomously and manage their own projects the size of which would depend on the experience of the candidate.
Responsibilities will include;
Undertaking structural analysis and producing design packages and reports on various structures
Liaise with clients, managing and developing relationships
Site visits
Help guide and develop junior team members
Contributing to knowledge sharing, individual professional and academic development
Participating and contributing to design team meetings
Ensuring best practice is in place
The successful applicant will have the following competencies:
Self-motivated, able to work on their own with minimal supervision.
Can demonstrate clear effective communication skills both within the offices and external bodies.
Able to produce designs and reports for building and civil structures
Able to direct and assist junior engineers
Will have a good understanding of the design process, know how a building goes together and be able to liaise effectively with clients, architects and contractors
Educational and experience
Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering
Ideally Experience with buildings and civil structures
