A highly regarded structural engineering consultancy, specialising in the design of building structures is looking for a Structural Engineer due to a sustained increase in work.
The business….
This practice has offices across the South of England. They have a presence in several regional markets and have relationships with prestigious clients and as such tend to punch well above their weight. The business handles projects from a variety of sectors including; basement extensions, high end "Grand Design" properties, major industrial work, local sports clubs, spas and leisure facilities. As well as more traditional buildings they also design innovative eco structures and have recently completed the Country's largest straw bale building.
The Exeter office is based in a fantastic location with easy public transport links and a modern, unique feel to the working environment.
The Role…
We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer who is keen to learn and work towards running their own projects. Someone who is happy to liaise with clients and has a real interest in the design of buildings.
Responsibilities will include:
Producing drawings, design calculations, structural reports, surveys and undertaking site visits with occasional visits to other regions… all initially under the supervision of an Associate
Liaising with clients, contractors and architects maintaining and developing relationships
Working with all traditional materials including; steel, concrete, timber and masonry as well as eco materials such as straw bale
Working closely with other disciplines and team members
Attending CPD and industry networking events
Requirements…
We are looking for someone with a relevant Batchelors or Masters in civil or structural engineering. As well as this, you'll need to be proactive and keen to develop your own skills.
