Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer

An opportunity has come available for a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Manchester to work on major infrastructure projects throughout the UK, Saudi Arabia and Canada.

I am looking for a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, ideally chartered with extensive design experience from feasibility through to detailed on a wide range of projects from rail, highways, nuclear, water, underground structures, tunnels, power and offshore.

Your role as a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer will offer career paths in all different directions including project management, technical, commercial or discipline lead etc.

Technical delivery will surround; writing and checking of geotechnical reports, site supervision, contract & tender preparation, delivery of a wide variety of geotechnical design and analysis including slope stability, piles, retaining walls, earthworks, foundations, using all relevant geotechnical software packages including Plaxis.

Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer Specification

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology with a Bias and MSc to Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• Ideally chartered with the ICE or CGeol
• 5+ years within a Geotechnical design consultancy
• Extensive technical reporting experience within geotechnical design, ideally on major transportation or infrastructure schemes.
• Design experience for piles, retaining walls, slopes, foundations and earthworks including specifications
• Use of geotechnical software packages. Plaxis beneficial but not essential.
