As a result of our continued success and growth in the UK, we're looking for a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer who will join our team of experts in the site-based Engineering Design team and work on some of the most complex structures of Nuclear Island in the Hinkley Point C project.

The role:

You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of Design Engineers, BIM managers and Draughtsmen while supporting the Civils Team lead in modifying and adapting the design of civil structures received from our Egis colleagues across France, Poland, Romania and Tunisia. Focusing particularly on Reactor buildings, Fuel buildings, Safeguard Electrical and Mechanical buildings you'll substantiate the adapted designs of the reinforced concrete and steel structures across the Hinkley Point C project and collaborate with your team to produce the appropriate responses to the change requests.

Key Responsibilities:

* Modify reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology.

* Coordinate the detailing activities with CAD designers and engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and/or 2D drawings.

* Manage engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA process.

* Oversee assessments and responses to Field Changes Requests, Field Information Requests or Site Non-Conformance.

* Liaise with stakeholders across Engineering teams and Construction teams regarding site requests.

* Work closely with back-office teams in France, Poland, Romania and Tunisia regarding design packages and design package issues.

* Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables.

* Undertake site walkdowns and inspections.

* Oversee work done by junior engineers as required by the Team lead or Project Manager.

About you:

With a background of working within the nuclear industry or another highly heavy industry sector, you'll have an established career in Civil Structural Engineering, with a Masters in Civil engineering or equivalent relevant subject. In addition, you will also have the following:

* Relevant Experience of Structural Civil Work, Civil Design, RC detailing, steels structures with ETT-C or Eurocodes or other relevant codes.

* Experience in design of reinforced concrete structures.

* Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or civil construction site.

* Experience on project dealing with material interfaces.

* Experience with on-site design support: working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions.

* Experience of 3D BIM modelling such as TEKLA, Naviswork will be a plus.

* Charted status or willingness to achieve chartered status.
