Morson Talent are recruiting for experienced Principal and Senior Civil Structural Engineers on a permanent basis, positions will be based in the Greater Manchester area.

Our client is an established engineering consultancy with expertise in rail, assets and infrastructure. They have a regional office network that provide civil and structural design, surveys and maintenance programmes within Rail, Assets & Infrastructure and Project Management.

Working closely with the Head of Rail, we are looking for Principal and Senior level Civil Structural Engineers with a minimum of 5 years design experience within a consultancy practice with solid all round understanding of rail standards and principles.

Chartered of Incorporated status with ICE or IstrctE is preferred.

The role purpose is to deliver safer and compliant civil & structural engineering design and technical support for the successful delivery of rail projects across the UK.

Essential Criteria

Ability to work unsupervised, under own initiative and to manage both internal and external staff.
Fully conversant with Network Rail standards, project deliverables and technical principles, including experience of working to NR/L2/RSE/02009 and NR/L2/CIV/003
Experience of successfully managing projects, including both internal and external resources
Experience of preparing fee proposals, project programmes and manging project commercials
Past experience in structural/civil lineside surveys and reporting
Ability to classify and assess structural defects, identify possible root cause(s) and produce technical report with recommendations.
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience of applying design software (E.g. TEDDS, Robot, CADS, Superstress etc)
Working knowledge of Eurocodes and associated industry and group standards
Valid UK driving license.

Key Objectives

Manage projects, staff, contractors and clients in accordance with company policies, procedures and QA system(s)
Ensure safe and compliant designs to client scope and timescale in accordance with current industry and group standards using established analysis software.
Deliver projects from cradle to grave, ensuring all technical deliverables are met within allocated time and budget constraints.
Ensure technical reports meet client requirements.
